ABSTRACT

The human resources department, as a dynamic mechanism in the hotel business, is a supporter and a manager who manages the corporation to grow by planning, supervising, and assuring the expected performance leads to desirable outcomes. The situation of spread of the COVID-19 virus has resulted in businesses and labor departments having to adapt to survive by upgrading existing knowledge and adding new skills. Therefore, this research aims to describe components and models of necessary skills development for performance affecting dynamic capabilities and performance in a new normal era for human resources managers of five-star hotels in Phuket Province, which are crucial components in an increased corporation's sustainability and performance in terms of personnel efficiency, assets, funds, and information. This research is quantitative, and research data was collected from a total of 384 human resource managers of five-star hotels. There was a mutual discussion of factor analysis and structural equation results with three human resources managers who have been successful for not less than seven years in their work. The components consisted of systematic consideration through the following causes: necessary skills;professional skills, work skills, and emotional skills, mediator variables;dynamic capabilities, and organizational performance. This research also discussed five guidelines for developing the necessary skills for performance. As various factors have affected the performance in the new normal era, the human resources executives of five-star hotels in Phuket province should apply them and consider them together with their business plans for setting the strategic plan of organizational management, management, administrative, and human resources development. © Authors retain all copyrights.

ABSTRACT

Purpose: This research intended to investigate the motivation and behavior of free independent travelers (FITs) who traveled to Southern Thailand in the Covid-19 pandemic. Theoretical framework: Studies on tourist motivation and behavior would provide more insightful implications and Covid-19 safeguards for tourism businesses especially in Southern Thailand – a dominant destination for domestic tourism demand. Design/methodology/approach: Data was collected from 400 domestic FITs using a questionnaire survey, processed in SPSS software, and analyzed with descriptive statistics, Chi-square, and One-way ANOVA. Findings: The highest level of overall pull and push motivations of domestic FITs while traveling to Southern Thailand. The highest level of pull motivation identified in this study was a promotional scheme, called "WE TRAVEL TOGETHER” the government-subsidized 40% of accommodation expenses to increase tourism demand. Research, Practical & Social implications: Comparative responses to SHA Plus standard between domestic and international tourists using both qualitative and quantitative data from all stakeholders involved would provide a variety of insightful and beneficial perspectives on NNT in the Covid-19 pandemic. Originality/value: CCSA should pay more attention on this particular behavior of tourists which might easily spread the disease to others. ABSTRACT

This research aims to study the effects of technological organization, management of cost innovation, and value creation. The population in this study was the canned and instant food export companies, which are crucial industries that earn incomes for Thailand. The quantitative research method was carried out using questionnaires sent to all companies (census) with the manufacturing managers as respondents. The survey revealed that these companies had a high level of technological organization, value creation, and cost innovation, except for reducing unnecessary functions at a moderate level because the products need to maintain customer demand;therefore, unnecessary adjustments may not be made. PLS-SEM assesses the reflective and structural models to test the research hypotheses. The findings revealed significant influences among three pairs of constructs: (1) technological organization had a positive effect on cost innovation, (2) cost innovation had a positive effect on value creation, and (3) technological organization had a positive effect on value creation. Thus, this research provides empirical information for the influences among the variables and presents the significance of being a technological organization and the inclusion of cost innovation management, to maintain their business during the COVID-19 pandemic and improve the organizational potential for preparation in future circumstances. © 2022 by the authors.
